PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING
Program Overview
The LARS Permanent Supportive Housing Program provides high-quality affordable housing to chronically homeless and disabled individuals and their families. LARS leases apartments throughout the Laurel area to transition these persons from living on the streets, in shelters, in cars, or in other dangerous conditions into their own homes. Participants live independently and obtain weekly case management and other support as needed. In May 2022, a HUD grant made it possible for LARS to increase services from 23 to 34 households and more than 80 chronically homeless individuals in need of stable housing and supportive case management. In FY 2023, a total of 1,007 bags of food were distributed to PSH households.

Referrals to this program and other supportive housing programs in Prince George's County are centrally coordinated by the county. If you are currently homeless and in need of housing, please call the Homeless Hotline at 888-731-0999 or visit the Prince George's County website for more information.
