PROGRAMS
To qualify for services at LARS, you must reside in one of the four Laurel zip codes (20707, 20708, 20723, or 20724) or be homeless in the Laurel area.

Emergency Services. LARS offers a number of emergency services to Laurel residents Monday through Friday, including: short-term financial assistance to prevent evictions and utility stoppage; assistance with security deposits and first month’s rent; vouchers for eyeglasses, clothing and furniture; shelter information; and a food pantry which can be utilized by clients every 30 days. LARS has limited funds to assist homeless clients with obtaining ID cards and birth certificates, prescriptions and other minor health expenses, drug treatment, and mental health needs. LARS also strives to make connections between clients and other service organizations by providing relevant referrals and information. 

Permanent Supportive Housing. This program provides subsidized housing and long-term case management to 22 chronically homeless and disabled individuals and families who live in local apartments leased by LARS. Referrals for these programs come directly from Prince George's County's coordinated entry system.

Self-Sufficiency Program. LARS' Self-Sufficiency Program provides more intensive case management/mentoring to up to 10 stabilized and motivated households who work closely with a LARS case manager over the course of 3-5 years to maintain permanent housing, improve financial habits, gain employment, and remove other barriers to self-sufficiency.

DONATION DROP OFF HOURS:
Donations are accepted at the back of the building during open hours. Please drive around to the back parking lot and ring the back doorbell and someone will assist you. Please do not leave donations outside or on the front porch. If you have any questions, send an email. ​
