The HOH is our combined holiday and end-of-year community engagement program. It comprises multiple projects, initiatives and opportunities for the community to provide our clients with food, gifts, hope and love.

Who can participate?
Anyone with a heart to give is welcome to participate in the LARS Holidays of Hope Program.
How can I be a part of it?
Individuals, organizations, businesses and places of worship can participate in various ways, such as donating food, holding a food drive, buying toys or volunteering. To get started, register and let us know what you are interested in doing. And if you have an idea, let us know that, too!
Food Drives and Distributions
LARS will provide nearly 400 families with traditional Thanksgiving dinner baskets. A local church supplies the frozen meats and fresh produce for Thanksgiving; we need you to provide the traditional side dishes: mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, canned vegetables, and dessert (brownie mix, cookie dough, or cake mix with frosting).
And, three weeks later, we do it again, distributing another 400 Christmas dinner baskets. For Christmas dinner, we need the same sides and the meat. If your organization (place of worship, business, social club or school) would like to host a food drive, email [email protected].
LARS Winter Wonderland
You will help us to provide close to 600 children with toys and gift cards. We’re asking you for the following:
How do I participate in the HOH Program?
Step 1: Register at http://bit.ly/4o7qjCZ between October 1 and Friday, December 6.
Step 2: Deliver* your food, toys or gifts to LARS (address and hours below).
Step 3: Go home knowing you’re helping your neighbors have an excellent holiday season.
You can also opt to have your donation delivered directly to LARS. Please include a gift receipt so we may properly express our gratitude.
How do I know what toys to purchase?
We have assembled an Amazon Wishlist and a Target Gift Registry to make toy shopping and purchasing easier.
Do you have adults who need gifts?
If you would like to support our adult clients, please consider donating winter accessories, such as hats, gloves, scarves, full-size toiletries, feminine hygiene products, incontinence products, and cleaning supplies.
When and where are you accepting food, donations and gifts?
We will accept food, toys and gifts from October 1 through December 18 at LARS, 311 Laurel Ave, Laurel, MD, at our back door Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Mondays from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. No Saturday or Sunday deliveries.
What is the Winter Wonderland?
The LARS Winter Wonderland is scheduled for Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Clients may pick up their Christmas food baskets, toys and gifts there. Volunteers are needed; go here to review available opportunities.
Is the Winter Wonderland at LARS?
The Winter Wonderland will be held at the Craig A. Moe Multiservice Center, located at 204 Ft. Meade Rd, Laurel, MD, the building behind Home Depot.
What are the parking arrangements?
LARS has ample street parking for donations and gift drop-offs, and the Laurel Multiservice Center has a large parking lot.

- Toys for girls and boys ages 4 – 14
- $25 and $50 gift cards for teenagers
