  • COVID-19
We are continuing to keep the health and safety of our clients, volunteers, employees, and community at the forefront as we navigate this public health crisis. LARS is an essential service and we are committed to being here for the families and individuals who need extra support during this time.

COVID-19 INFORMATION
Normal operating hours remain unchanged (MWF 9am-2pm, M 5-7:30pm).

If you are not feeling well, please stay home. Do not visit LARS until you have been fever-free for at least 48 hours without the use of fever-suppressant medications. If you have traveled outside of the country within the last 30 days, please wait at least two weeks before visiting LARS.

When visiting LARS for the first time to receive food, please come prepared with the following documents:

1. Valid picture ID (adults 18 and older)
2. Birth certificates (children 17 and younger)
3. Social security cards for all household members
4. Proof of residence to verify Laurel address (Only needed if the client has a Head of Household ID without a Laurel address on it.)
If you are requesting financial assistance, please complete the Financial Assistance Application beforehand (if possible) and come prepared with the documents listed on the Documents Checklist. The application and checklist can be found on the homepage of our website.

Phone Services
Services that will be addressed over the phone include: Referrals, resources, asking if you have received mail, checking eligibility for food or financial assistance, and following up on the status of your case.
When asking for information specific to your personal data, our staff will ask for the client’s full name, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN before providing confidential information over the phone. We will not disclose any personal data without this information being provided.

Food & Financial Assistance

Food and financial assistance services will be provided by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Appointments can be made by calling the front desk at 301-776-0442 and select option "2." Clients can also schedule an appointment through the online portal by clicking here.
Bread and produce may be available at the time of your regular food pick up appointment, but we will no longer be distributing those items on a walk-in basis.
To further minimize contact and to protect the health of clients and staff, all services will be conducted at the front door. Only staff will be permitted in the building. When you arrive at your scheduled time, please knock on the front door. A case manager will ask for identification and assist you there.
