Charlette Barnett

Artist

 is part of the Laurel Advocacy & Referral Services' Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Program. Before joining PSH, she had been homeless for more than two years. 

Charolette's case manager began to build trust and establish a mutually respectful relationship. He learned of Charolette’s appreciation for art and crafts, as well as her love for creating art, especially painting. She enjoys making art, which inspires her to continue improving in the PSH program. In 2024, Charolette presented a commission piece to The Honorable Aruna Miller, Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, for the Lieutenant Governor's Office in Annapolis.
 
"LARS has been a blessing in my life. They have helped me have a home, reunite with my family and start painting again. I have found my joy." With support from the PSH Program, especially her dedicated case manager, Charolette is thriving.
